Remapping Debate has put together interactive maps that can zoom down to the Census Block Group level anywhere in the United States, revealing just how segregated the US is. A discussion of block group data? HNNNNGGGGG. Also, um, this is fucking crazy. But god do I fucking love what GIS mapping can do. To play the role of devil’s advocate: could one make the argument that people generally enjoy living in their own ethnic communities to explain this phenomena? I don’t see why you couldn’t make that argument…It would seem to hold true if you look around enough… Also, I agree that GIS mapping kicks ass. Also also, Justin, go look at the area immediately surrounding school lolololol
